Easterleigh is
a registered charity that operates in the Fylde Coast area of Lancashire.
It was originally opened as a livery stables in 1995. The name is
in memory of our much-loved horse, Easter Girl, whom I rescued.
She lived for for 16 happy years in my care and passed away aged
31.
After taking in animals that had been left at the stable doors
we decided to closed the livery stables and devote our time to rescuing
unwanted animals. Thus Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary was opened.
As more and more animals arrived we decided we would have to open
to the public in order to raise desperately-needed funds to feed
and shelter our ever-increasing family.
The Sanctuary was granted charity status in 1998, so the hard work
of caring and raising funds goes on.
