"hi..im still with my new family. so far ive visited the vets several times. i didnt know seeds on plants could be poison and that if i stole tablets they wasnt for me id be back at the vets. im so happy tho, my tail hasnt wagged so much. i still am a handful but i love my family and lick them to say how much i care. i still dont like other dogs but soon im going to classes to correct my behaviour. my next door neighbour is good with me and forgives my barking and telling him to throw my ball down the drive. stanley park and herons reach are my favorite walks.i hope the other dogs find good homes too. thankyou xxx" - gizmo "After a recent visit to Easterleigh to drop off a donation, I spotted 2 beautiful Lhasa Apsos called Enzo and Deano.They were old boys but it was love at first sight As I already have 4 dogs of my own I knew I couldnt take them.My mum had been feeling very lonely and I knew how good she was with my own dogs so I went round to show her a photo.We went to walk them that same afternoon and she too fell for them .Rolo and Gizmo, as they are now called, are ruined rotten and totally adored by my mum and they get to see their Auntie Christine nearly every day!People have stopped my Mum in the park as they have remembered them from Easterleigh and are delighted they have found a good home together.Thanks again Easterleigh for the good work you do and we shall continue to support you :) Marian,Chris,Rolo and Gizmo xxxx" - Chris Hughes "I was rescued by a little boy called Liam. He had such a lovely smile I fell for him and decided I would put on my puppy eyes for him. (it worked) because he came back a few days later and had another look at me. He then asked if he could take me for a walk. I was very good and the family decided I was going to join their family. Lucky me, a few days later they collected me and off i went in their car. I cried on my way down the lane as my friends were being walked by Easterleigh helpers. Then we arrived at my new home. There was a bowl of water and food for me and a few toys. How I was going to enjoy being here. They took me for a walk once i had settled in round to meet the grandparents and cousins, I was very good and they all liked me. We went back home and I was left to go to bed in my nice comfy bed. I never cried at all. I am very good and sit when asked, I go walking 3 times a day and never bother my new family when they are eating. I adopted her 4 weeks ago and she is settling in well. In fact she's curled up on my knee now purring like a tiger as I'm typing this. There'll be no shortage of love here for her and she deserves it. I have been in my home for for over 5 years, I am now 12 (I think) still go our 3 times a day with my Dad andI love being in the car with my Mum & Dad. Have a boy friend called Zac who is the same age as me. Been up to the lakes again this summer where I love running around the fields/woods. I know my Mum & Dad spoil me but I love them for it. I've been with my new family 2 weeks tomorrow. I'm still a bit of a handful but i'm learning to settle into family life! I get lots of love and treats, I'm starting to understand the words No and leave it! lol. I love my new home so much, I've not even tried to escape! I still get a bit too excitable at times but I am only a puppy so I can just about get away with it!lol Thanks for finding me a new family Easterleigh! I adopted Satchmo in January as a joint cat between me, my son and his girlfriend. His name is now Ollie and he is beautiful. He lives with Magic, a very old lady of 13 and is occasionally batted about the head when he gets too giddy. He loves the garden and is often to be found snoozing in the sun on a garden chair. He still drinks loads of water from the fountain and likes a drop of cat milk every now and again. Thank you to Easterleigh. :) Susan, Johnathan and Natalie" - Susan Hilditch "I recently adopted a gorgeous chihuahua Maisie( fromerly Dixie) from easterleigh and would just like to say that she has settled in fine:). We have had her for about 4 months and my daughter simply adores her<3. She is a great addition to the family and is very playful and loves a cuddle!:D" - Tracey "I rescued Marley my one year old Golden Lab on the 1st of May 2010 after seeing his profile on your website. After our first meeting i knew he was the perfect dog for me. They say every dog represents owner...well it's very true. Every moment we spend together is an adventure and he has become my best friend. I could talk forever about the mischief he gets into and the amount of new socks i've had to buy :)...but assuming he was named after the dog in the film i can honestly say he lives up to his name. He has become one of the family and loved by everyone and has made many friends at the butchers and on the beach where we take our walks. I am so grateful to Kevin at the Sanctuary for allowing Marley to become part of our lives. He is very well looked after and has lots of fun. I have total respect for what the staff at the sanctuary do for the animals in their care. I know how hard you all work and would like to say a big thankyou from us both x" - Karina and Marley "In 2001 i came to Easterleigh for a look around, as i often did, and spotted in the isolation pen Dalmation puppies! I spent some time deciding which one i felt attached to and that's how it began. I brought home my Floyd and he gave me 7 years of love and happiness. Sadly, in 2008 Floyd went to sleep or rainbow bridge as i like to believe due to a serious kidney problem. I still miss him today as i did the day i said goodbye. I cant even let his ashes go yet. He was a loyal and loving boy and i'll never ever forget him. My best friend. I am left with the fondest of memories. Thank you Easterleigh for giving me those. I later found a lovely little rabbit at Easterleigh and named her India. She is very independent and to be fair doesnt like me too much. She decided to like her Dad (Peter)more and he looks after now. Thank you Easterleigh for allowing us to give a home to our animals and for bringing me happy memories. x" - michele "We recued pepper, the 9 month old lab, she is so loving, and enjoys going lots of walks n playin with her noisey toys, she is like my best friend already we get on so well, we have only had her 4 weeks or so, pepper would like to say to all of her animal pals and staff she misses u all and still does (love) woof you all, pepper settled in straight away, we thought she would chew but she has done any of that yet, but there is time for that! thankyou everyone who cared for me whilst i spent my time with you! pepper and my new family x x x" - Katie omalley "We came to the sanctuary last week and spotted Chester a cocker spaniel and knew we wanted him straight away. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and you would think he had lived with us forever, he is so happy. He is a beautiful dog. Thanks so much to all at Easterleigh!" - john, Jennifer, Emily and Adam....normoss "This dog is the kindest dog i have encountered, he was in a car crash last year causing one of his legs to be amputated, he has been badly treated by his owners ever since he was a puppy and it caused him too become nervous around certain people, now a family friend has taken the dog in too a loving environment until a permanent home can be found, if anyone knows of a loving family that could take care of this dog and give it all the love it deserves please email me on ashleigh_barry@hotmail.com , believe me you will be changing this dogs life :)" - Buster "We got our beautiful dog called Dusty in January 2009. She's a yorkie crossed with a Jack russel and has settled in so well. We are really happy that we bought her from the sanctuary and we're glad it's still running. My new owners didn't know my real birthday so they decided that September 1st ( the day I came to my new house) my birthday! I'm hoping to get a new tag and collar ( I'll give my cutie eyes to mummy) I still miss all my old friends and I am sad to hear that Benji the Patterdale had to be brought back in. Honestly Benji, where are your manners? I am Tasha, and I am Gemma's owner. I am 13 years old and I am so happy that Easterleigh gives animals a second chance. A. "I have had dogs all my life. We decided we wanted another dog after Misty died. We came to Easterlea and saw Tinsell! She had been in the paper unbeknow to us. She was abanoned at Christmas hence the name Tinsell. There she was little red coat on it was love at first site. After a home check she came home wiht us. She is now part of the family and loved by us all. Loves her ball walks and has made our lives more worthwhile. Easterlea you do a great job. Tinsell has now got a nice home and a good life and thats because of the work you do Thankyou Easterlea." - Dave and Tinsell "We rescued a rather lively 7month old collie/spaniel cross a few months ago. With lots of exercise and attention she has turned into a well behaved young lady who is very loving and a pleasure to own. She has become a central part of our family and we are looking forward to spending our future with her as part of our family. I'm very happy now and I've been here for 7 months! The people here love me a lot and I'm very greatful to the people at the sanctuary for taking care of me and helping me find my family. Thank you Easterliegh!!! :) Rowan and Amber xxxx" - Rowan Mellor "Hello I am british blue cat called Sikhi , i love my sisters bed and i never leave it.I always find a sunny spot when the sun shines through the windows and you will often see me napping in the sunshine. I have a very distinctive meow and I know which cuboard my food is in , i meow intill it is served.When my sister is sleeping i jump on to her belly and go to sleep with her , I am very affectionate and I love to lick your skin :) Thank you Easterleigh for looking after me i know how a loving family and im led in the sun atm" - Beth Cozens "Hi,I am Oscar the 12 month old staffie.I have only been at my new house for 3 days but I love it here!I have got a cute collar my sister picked and I have my own bed,I still prefer the sofa though!I have got loads of toys but I try to pick them all up at once!I love to play with my daddy and I never get tired!I have already learnt to remember where my house is and I know when my mummy,sister and daddy are back home.I love playing swingball in the back garden and I remind mummy to feed me at teatime!I have also learnt how to get my own way with my big sister,alls I have to do is give her my sad eyes!So,I am settling in well.I would like to thank the staff at Easterleigh for looking after to me untill I found a home.I still miss you all at Easterleigh.Even the cats! xx" - Oscar "As a family, we went to Easterleigh to look for a puppy and found Smudge! She was an 8 week old ridgeback collie cross and had been abandoned as part of a litter. Eight years later and we have never looked back....she is a fantastic family dog and loved by everyone who knows her....we love you lady woo x" - Smudge "well we have been in our new home for six months now and we are living a life of luxury ! when we first moved in Summer did all the investigating and i(sisko) was very shy just like Easterliegh staff said i would be, however now i cant get enough cuddling and attention ! My new family are very affectionate and we love it here. After our first six w eeks getting used to the house we realised there was a whole new space to explore . . . THE GARDEN !!! wow this is great so much so that we dont need to go very far for entertainment and like just to stay in our own territory enjoying several warm sunny spots and vantage points.With the recent white stuff falling from the sky covering all the green grass we like just to watch from the french doors curled up in the sun and keep our paws warm and dry. Lots of love , and thankyou for looking after us from March to June till we found our new family, Summer and sisko xx" - summer and sisko(a.k.a Sean) "A couple of years ago after my hamster died, i decided i was older so i wanted a cat, My mum went to Easterleigh and looking round a pen she found a small timid tabby, this tabby had been abused and shot in the back leg with an air gun by a man, after en taken into easterleigh, they cared for her, so immediatly she jumped into my mums arms and she knew she was the one :) I went to see her + she showed me love & affection,it was so hard to leave her so we got a house check & soon she was mine . I named her Tara and i love her to pieces ! She's a lively cat outside while inside, she sleeps anywhere & sometimes brings me 'presents'! She is still scared of most people and only shows affection to me but i wouldnt be anywhere without, living on a healthy iams diet ( I RECOMMAND IT!) and having her 5-6 years , she still has plenty of time left thank you easterleigh :D <3" - Laura & Tara "Hi! i'm gemma and I have been with my new family for about 3 mothns now and I love it. I have just spentmy first christmas here and I got three presents, two of which I have eaten. I have my own special char where I like to sleep during the day and I am learning to go to the toilet outside. I am very happy when I meet my new family's friends and when I go for walkies with my sister Tasha and brother Ben. My new mummy and daddy give me lots of cuddles and play with me lots. I am a black Lab cross." - CHICA "i had always wanted a little dog. I finally pursuaded my mum and dad to look at easterleigh for a look. we saw a beautiful little jack russel, though we thought she looked so sad. when the dog we wanted was put on hold for someone else, we decided to have a look at the little jack russel. She was brought to us for a walk and she had a totally changed character! she wasn't a small jack russel, she had ling legs and was about medium size. Her name was Gemma. She joined us and quickly setteled into her new home and know i feel i couldn't live without her. Thank you easterleigh for giving Gemma and the other animals a second chance. thank you so much " - Easterleighfan<3 "Well, I have been at my new home for 8 months now and I am well and truly settled. I behaved exactly as Easterleigh said I would...I have been friendly, yet like time to myself, enjoy being indoors, but with the chance to wander outside occasionally and have not scratched anything apart from my scratching pole (now that I have worked out what it's for!!) As an old cat I feared that the cold of the sanctuary would make me so ill that I would die and I worried that no-one would take me in. Then I met Joanna and John. Joanna had been wanting a cat for a while, but wanted an easy-going girl, who wouldn't mind being left alone in the day and who was affectionate. She found me! We have a great time together. When she goes out into the garden I follow her and when she watches TV I snuggle up with her. She says I've got the loudest purr of any cat that she has known and always calls me beautiful. I cannot thank Easterleigh enough for finding me a new home. I am so happy and comfortable here and the best thing is, I get cooked chicken every day. Smokey xx " - Smokey, Aged 12, British Blue Cat "we were found in a cardboard box with two other kittens,mum was supposed to have some other kittens but they died.she phoned up the day we came here and said she wanted us.Mum had not even seen us,but wanted us so much,you see her other cat had just died and she was very sad but could not bare not having a cat around the house.Mum and Dad came straight away with a carrier and fell in love with us at first glance,that was 7 years ago,well needless to say we rule the roost, we are brother and sister,we share everything except food of course!!we love are new home and are very very happy here.This is mum,these two are a handfull but i would not change them for the world,Easterleigh is the best sanctuary and the animals are well looked after.The work they do is a credit to their dedication.Keep up the extremely good work.thanks again for my two terrors!! When i came to you, i had 4 kittens and my name was Sweetie. Now I am loving my life being spoilt rotten, sun-bathing in the garden and chasing the odd winged insect or two. Sometimes i bring in a mouse for my Dad and Mum, i think they like this...My Dad pops down to Easterleigh now and again to give some food and tells me what's going on there. Hope all the animals find new homes and are as lucky as i was...love Poppy xx" - poppy "It all started with a bit of voluntary dog walking, then 7 months later I met Solomon (Sol). He’s a 4 yr old Shar-Pei x Bulldog who caught my eye and captured my heart! From the moment we brought him home he fit in, he’s such a lovely lad we all love him so much. I think he’s happy as his tail never stop wagging! The guys and girls at Easterleigh do a wonderful job, so if you’re thinking of adopting a new pet you must pay them a visit. Love Jen, Sol and all the family x " - Jen Brewster "I was recently made redundant, and was wondering what to do with all my spare time ( i was getting bored sat at home all day). I decided to become a volenteer at easterliegh, and it is one of the best decisions i have made. Since i started there my usual day can involve: Walking the dogs, cleaning them out, cleaning the rabbits, playing with the cats, then there is beau the pig who loves a good scratch behind his ear (usually about 20min worth! lol). I have defenetaly fallen in love with solomon the bull dog x char pei and would take him home tomorow if i didnt have really young kids. he's such a good character lol! If you can spare a couple of hours a week, please come down for a coffee & chat and look towards becoming a volunteer. Theres always jobs that need doing! I currently spend 3 days at easterleigh and even when i start working full time again i will still make sure i have some time in my week for easterleigh. What a great place to work and meet people!" - Mike bell "Hello!We got an alsation cross pup from Easterleigh just over a year ago now.On a visit we were donating some blankets on arrival and didnt expect what happend next.We walked round as you do :) and saw the litter of 9 pups.Well to cut a long story short, mother and i fell in love with one, it was a case of bondnig through cuddling.A week on and she had settled in to our home, with us and the three musketeers ( the cats :). We named her Chleo after changing her name a dozen times,we settled for Chleo as she has beautiful eyes. I dont know what life would be like without her.Shes such a lovely dog , so affectionate and loving, likes nothing more than to carry shopping home :) oh! and tormenting the cats.. yeah shes a mischief , shes a star xxx " - Chleo "Sorry to hear easterleigh has had some problems. I have just been to the Vets for my yearly M O T said i am fit for my age (10) said I was a little over weight but I said the scales were wrong!. I have two toy boy friends one called Zac who lives near me and Buster I see down on Rossall beach. Still love my Mum & Dad who still spoil me. CHICA" - Chica "Hello, My name is Freya and I am a lion head bunny. After being lovingly cared for at Easterleigh for several months I got a new home in July. I now live with a nice family and have the run of a garden all day to play in and a two storey hutch outside for shelter during the day. At night time I go inside and have quality time with my new "mum" being groomed and stroked. Keep up the good work and thank you to all at Easterleigh. We have settled in at our new home, with a lovely hutch and a run in the garden. My owner, Chloe loves us very much and we always get spoilt with lots of carrots!! We want to say a huge thank you to Easterleigh, especially Della who made sure we had a loving home and was a great support to our new 'parents' - and eventually she did remember to return for her glasses!! We are brothers and we were adopted by our new Mum and Dad and two young lively children. We are very spoilt kittens with lots of loves and cuddles and lots of play time. We are little tinkers sometimes and when we first arrived got into lots of strange places like the back of the dishwasher and loved to climb curtains!! but we are much calmer now and love to play fight with each other. We are very happy and well and growing very fast! (Harry a lot more than Oscar). Thankyou Easterleigh for letting us have the chance for a new home"" - The Porter Family "Alfie is doing great about 5 months ago we started flyball training, now we are going to agilty and go to obedience classes where we are doing are bronze in Kennel Club Good Dog Scheme, and have been picked out for Obedience Uk. We do Obedience shows and he is a grate dog and always keeps you on your feet. Ruby and Alfie " - Ruby and Alfie "Hi to All at Easteleigh Just wanted to say a massive thankyou for all your hard work and dedication - you are an inspration! We have adopted some of your more nervous cats over the last year - Crystalou and Vienna first , and more recently Ruth and Rachael. All are well settled here now and live happily both in and out of the house .... as the mood takes them! We would like to urge people not to overlook the the older , sometimes more nervous cats at the sanctuary. With a little love and patience they makethe most fantastic pets, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing them rolling on their backs in the sunshine. I think I will be ten but still a fit 10 year old. I have my Mum & Dad sussed and have them just where I want them so still get spoilt rotten. Greetings Chica" - chica "I am a rabbit who lived at Easterleigh for quite a bit. Now, I am adopted and live with a friendly family, and i share a cage with another rabbit. Thank you." - Daisy "I lived with a man who had to travel abroad, so he gave me to a woman. However, she couldn't handle me, and so gave me to the sanctuary. From there, a woman and a man with three kids adopted me! I have a very good life and have made new doggy friends. My owners have even had another baby, which i am very good with. Thank you for looking after me Easterleighxxx" - Patch "Hi we are twins that left your sanctuary nearly seven years ago. Although our mum and dad came for just one cat, they kindly took both of us and we grew up together with another fluffy RSPCA male (who thinks he's gorgeous!! ) and a brother and sister. Sadly we lost Boyee and that left four of us. My name is Weener and my sister is called Spook as she is scared of EVERYTHING. I'm a bit of a hunter and I do get cross when my mum keeps me in at night so I don't kill all the surrounding wildlife. Gizmo (fluffy thing) is a pal and we all curl up together on mum's knee (if theres room) Millie (the older Queen) went on her holidays to keep nanny company but she is back now and enjoys sunbathing in the garden for most of the day. She sleeps forever........... and likes lying on mum's plants in the garden. I like drinking water out of the pool with my paw ( mum says I look so cute when I do it and she takes lots of pictures of me so I keep doing it) Me and my sister 'Spook' have the odd squabble but I love her really. Well I'm Ali and have had the most amazing joy with these guys. They wreck your house ( so most things need to be cat proofed!) but they have brought me and my family the most amazing joy. They are treasured pets and couldn't imagine life without them. " - alfie and ruby (new news) "Hi my name is Eris (sometimes they call me Her Royal Prettiness) - Eris was the Greek goddess of discord and strife ... which is what I caused my new family with my semi-feral playfulness when I first arrived 5 years ago! I have since become much more tame and got my pretty paws firmly under the table. There are 3 cats and 2 dogs here now and we each have our own bowls, toys, beds and special cuddles. It was especially nice when Aika came to live with us 3 years ago because I could chat to her about our happy times at Easterleigh. We both have health problems because of our old lives but we get the medicine we need and are loved very much. A big thank you to everyone at Easterleigh for putting the purrs (and barks) back into our lives. Mummy will always be grateful that you helped her find us. Love Eris xxxx" - Eris "This is a note to say that I have been living very happily with my new mummy for more than 3 years now. I loved my old family but they had some problems and had to keep leaving me all on my own with no food or water. I am a clever Collie and I learned to fend for myself but, understandably, I was very cross with humans for a long time. I was old and set in my ways and sometimes I accidentally snapped and snarled. People called me a "bad" dog and nobody wanted me but Easterleigh helped my new mummy to understand me. Even when it seemed like nothing would make me a "good" dog, she never shouted or smacked me. My new mummy introduced me to a brother dog and 4 cats who I tried to boss around ... but they got wise and didn't let me have my way all the time! After a while, we all got along very well. We decided to change my name from Erica to Aika. It sounds like my old name when people call me ... but mummy says it is prettier. I have arthritis now so I have to take sweeties every day to ease the pain. I still get a cross sometimes when my old legs hurt me but I get extra sweeties which helps and mummy says I am a "different" dog. I have a very special doctor who understands my occasional bad moods. I also have food, water, walkies, toys and love every day. Aika xxx" - Aika "I mentioned in my last report that I visited my Grandad in his residential home in Fleetwood, well sorry to say he has passed away, I miss going to see him and of course the biscuits/cakes he saved for me. Just been on my hols - we stay in posh hotels that are dog friendly, take my own bed etc, my Dad then takes me out for walks in the woods. My lov e to everyone and to let you know i am still spoilt rotten. CHICA" - CHICA "I am a very Lucky dog indeed. I came to Easterleigh around 2 and a half years ago for just one night. Sat in my cage (at the very end) I just felt so sad that I had been so bad that my owners had to give me up. I had been there from before teatime on Friday when a woman and her daughter came into the Sanctuary, I frankly couldn't be bothered with jumping up and down as I was so depressed. I just turned around when they came and fixed them with my brown eyes. Awww they all cried, I knew then that they thought I was cute but didn't really want a bad bad dog. Then a man came and put a lead on me and told me they wanted to walk me, be calm I thought, it could be a walk to make me run away because I am so bad. So I made sure I was on my best behaviour on the walk, I just kept sitting down and staring up at them whenever they caught my eye. We didn't go very far and I knew I had blown it. They went away and I knew for certain. Next day all the other dogs were barking and yapping and a very kind lady came with a big yellow lead and put it on a nice shiny collar, this is it I thought, I will be set frede because even they don't want me here I am so bad. I was so depressed. Imagine my surprise when they handed me to the lovely lady who took me for a walk and a man who she was with just couldn't stop tickling my ears. They then put me in a big box with wheels and I got to sit on the lady's knee looking out of the window. I have never ever looked back since. I now have three beds at home, millions of toys, a huge garden, regular vet check up's and more importantly I get oodles of cuddles and kisses. I couldn't be happier ( I think my pets Nicole and Simon are happy too!!) Thank you Easterleigh, you taught me how to live again (and control humans with a flick of the brown eyes!) Lucky, Collie Corgie Cross. " - Lucky "I have now been in my new home over 2 years, dropped into Easterleigh the other week with some tins of food, saw the new pigs, hey what a size. I am still very happy and had a brill Christmas. My big present was a feeding table of my own, they tell me it is for the older dog so I dont have to bend down, nice bit of furniture, but I keep telling them I am as fit as a two year old. My Grandad has gone into a home in Fleetwood and i am allowed to go and visit him in his room, he saves me his cakes but my mother has put a ban on them, with all the walks me Dad takes me on I tell them I soon run the cakes off. I have a boy friend Winston ( a choc Lab-I am a black cross lab), we visit the same park. I also came to the rescue of a puppy who nearly got run over, found his owners (he had escaped) who were looking for him, we are now good pals, he lives in the same street. Wuff CHICA" - CHICA "Hello it's Jake here again - having a big slob out on the couch at the moment so just thought I'd give you another update on what I've been up to since I wrote to you last year. I'm having a whale of a time at the minute - I go to the Airside bar at Blackpool Airport once a week to see my friend Jess, who is a Springer Spaniel - we have really good fun, running up and down the terrace together and making everyone laugh. I like to do the social rounds when I'm there so all the customers know me really well and I get loads of fuss and attention. I can't wait for next weekend as I'm joining the Staffordshire Bull Terrier North Walking Club which does a walk round a different area in the lakes every month. The best thing is that I will meet loads of other staffy friends who will all look similar to me. I might even find myself a girlfriend - you never know !!! I will come and see you all again very shortly as soon as I can fit you in to my hectic social diary. We asked a vets nurse where we should go to adopt and she said Easterleigh straight away. We went to Easterleigh and discovered a beautiful little tabby kitty called Keira who we both fell immediately in love with. We adopted her in October 2005 and she is now the true queen of the house! She is spoiled rotton and after all that's what they're for! Thank you to all at Easterleigh for giving us such a beautiful little pet who helped us both to recover from the loss of our two dogs." - Pam & Trevor "Hi there. I came to Easterleigh to adopt a cat. I spotted a huge, grumpy chinchilla persian called Sebastian, and knew instantly he was the one for me. With lots of perseverance, love, kindness, and many injuries on my part, he eventually gave in, and allowed himself to be loved. After a while I took in another cat who had been miaowing at my back door, and so the beginning of a wonderful friendship for Seb and Cole began. Sadly, in May this year Seb had to be put to sleep (by lovely, kind Bob Jones-the best vet ever). Thank you Easterleigh for giving 7 wonderful, happy, memorable (how many photos I have of Seb!!!) years to myself, Seb,Cole, and everyone else who had the pleasure of Seb's company, Amanda xxx" - Amanda "Me and my mum came into Easterleigh and I saw Branston the collie cross spaniel and he was the only dog not barking . We both liked the look of him so we took him in the run evaryday and gave him treats we put him on hold and now 3 months on he is well trained and loving life and his ball. I am so glad I got him and thank you to everyone at easterleigh for making this happen . I love alfie " - alfie originaly branston and ruby "hi thankyou to all the helpers at the sanctuary. for looking after me i was 1 of 5 semi ferral kittens who came to the sanctuary with my mum pusskin. people were put off by the word ferrel but after just two weeks i let my owners pick me up and cuddle me ,im no longer scared of anything. Even my house mate oliver a 6 year old tabby likes me ,we like to play chase with each other. all i say is please do consider my brothers cheeco claude and carlos as we are all great kittens. and if you are looking for an older cat please consider my mum pusskin PLEASE. lots of love tilly (sparky)" - tilly (sparky) "i rescued a dog from easterleigh about 7 years ago. she was an old english sheepdog. couldn't forget her, she was fantastic. loved alot, treated like a queen. but most of all we were best friends. sheba has now passed away due to an operation she never recovered from. just want to say a big thank you to mrs leigh for all the work you did to help her when she needed you. without the help of easterleigh i would never of had the best dog in the world. r.i.p babes. love you loads. x" - sheba "Hi, well I rehomed a cat who was showing signs of stress and bad behaviour, 6 months on and Roger's a totally different cat, now he has a loving home,(apart from when he gets garden birds) kept him inside for four months and eventually when he went out he doesn't stray too far, so Roger's been tamed and has calmed down and is now a good cat. Meow. Craig" - Roger the Cat "Hi, my name is Maisie and I have been in my new home for over three weeks, and am very settled. My new mum says I look very much like a dog she used to have. Iam very obedient although I don't like meeting other dogs when Iam talking a walk. I love my hide chews and playing ball, my family have got me a treaty ball that I'm supposed to roll with my nose or hit with my paws to get the treats to come out. I found it easiet to get the packet of treats from of the table (actually that didn't go down to well with the family, I thought I was using my iniiative). My new dad gets very sad, mum says he's not well, but he like talking to me and I cuddle up to him. Even though he doesn't like going out he sometimes takes me out, I try not to pull when he has my lead. I lke sitting on peoples' laps and being cuddled, I make sure that I'm fair and share my time with all the members of the family I want to say thank you to Easterleigh for looking after me and letting me come to my new home. I have taken well to my new home and i love my mummy, daddy and two sisters. I like to play hide and seek alot, especially in my mummys bed and i also love walkies. Ok i am going now to sleep on my mummys bed. bye xXx" - Buster "Myself and my husband turned up at easterleigh from a liitle known place called Barrow in furness looking for a soulmate. In we wondered and then BANG!! i was struck down by the eyes of a beautiful bull mastiff! Romeo was as quiet as a mouse and very obviously didnt like the idea of being stuck in a kennel.Half an hour later and he was curled up on my knee in the car on the the way back to his new home. At first we ahd some trouble with romeo as he had had no training but after that hurdle we had a fab time together and when our first baby arrived he doted on her. Every so often we top up the monthly standing order we have by taking in food to support the great work that mandy and the team do. March 9 and bang it happens again. On a visit to Easterleigh and following two miscarriages i fell in love with Oakley(nee Cupid)a jack russell x puppy . Now at home with his big brother he is settling in well to family life and certainly keeps us on our toes! A big thanks to Mandy and the team." - nina, romeo and oakley "Out Cat Lucky was pining after losing our much loved Tigger. We adopted Smoky (although beautiful) turns out shes v grumpy (still is bless her). Decided it was time to adopt a kitten to see if it would chill Smoky out a bit (give her something to do). We arrived at Easterleigh and there was a black and white kitten (Gismo) who jumped on my shoulder, little did we know he had a little sister (Ebony) who was hiding behind a box. We decided to adopt them both! Smoky decided to play mum, which was fantastic and proceeded to clean them both until they looked like punk rockers. 5 years on and they are both really happy cats, we have 5 cats in total now(our last one just moved in off the streets), and Gismo is definitely the boss! My mum and dad rescued me two years ago and I am a gorgeous tabby cat. I was a bit timid when they brought me home cos there were other cats but mum and dad were very patient with me and let me hide if I wanted to until I felt safe. I have had a few accidents, I came home once covered in paint stripper and lost all my fur but mum rushed me to the vets and they gave me something for the burns. Mum says I am just a baby still and lets me get away with murder. Thank you Easterleigh for saving me and sending me home to be adored and spoiled by everyone (except Tess) Holly X Hi my name is Tess and I am so much more lovely than Holly so there! Mum and Dad came and rescued me 4 years ago and I am now the head of the house under mum! Holly is a trouble maker and cannot be believed at all. I am the prettiest cat and mum says so! Just to give you all an update. I am living the life of princess (which i do deserve) mum and dad take me on several walks a day, i had a lovely christmas and santa paws was very good to me i must say!!!. I still dont like other dogs at all mum has took me training but i hated it got to stressed with other dogs around me!! much to mums dismay as if i was a good girl and liked other dogs she wanted DANKO, but there is no way!! If it wasn't for Easterleigh I would have been put down as 'dangerous' when I was seven months old. I am a working Border Collie and my first owners were not aware of my needs, yes I am still a bit hyperactive but because I get regular walks, regular meals and amusement during the day (I patrol the garden guarding the rabbits from unwanted guests) I am nearly always a good boy. My fondness for cardboard has created a few small incidents over the Christmas period but nobody shouted at me so I think I got away with it!
